An underground storage tank (UST) is a tank installed below ground to safely store liquids such as fuel, oil, chemicals, or water, designed with strong structure and corrosion protection to prevent leaks and environmental contamination.
KDMSTEEL USTs can store diesel, gasoline, crude oil, aviation fuel, chemicals, fire water, potable water, wastewater, and other industrial liquids. Material and lining are selected according to the chemical compatibility of the stored medium.
Single-wall tanks have one steel shell and are more economical. Double-wall tanks consist of an inner and outer shell with a monitoring space in between, providing higher environmental safety and early leak detection.
Corrosion protection can include epoxy or bitumen coating, FRP wrapping, rubber lining, and optional cathodic protection systems. These measures effectively isolate the steel from soil moisture and chemicals.
Special structural reinforcement, anchoring systems, and buoyancy prevention designs can be provided for seismic zones and high water table conditions.
